STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO COMPLETE AT LEAST ONE COMPUTER CENTER ACTIVITY IN THE CLASSROOM EACH WEEK AS PART OF THEIR SEAT WORK CONTRACT ACTIVITIES.

A SCHEDULE IS MADE EACH WEEK AND ACTIVITIES ARE CHANGED EVERY ONE TO THREE WEEKS AS NEEDED.  A TIC TAC TOE BOARD AND THE DIRECTIONS ARE POSTED ON THE WALL.  STUDENTS ARE ALSO GIVEN A COPY TO KEEP IN READING FOLDERS.

Theme related word work activity

Check the schedule to see what activity is required for this week’s story.

Open the Kidspiration activity from the computer desktop.

Complete the activity after carefully reading the directions.

Be sure to check your work and save by typing your complete name.  Put your paper in the drop box found on the desktop.

Write a Story

Choose an idea from the writing center.

Log on to the computer and open WORD.

Be sure to include a title and remember to indent your first paragraph.  Be sure to check your work for correct spelling, grammar, and punctuation.  

Remember to save your work in your documents folder for later completion or  printing.

Your story must be at least 1-2 pages long.

Type in Sherry Rogers to get your list of words

Choose a game or test practice for your words. 

Be sure to check your work for correct spelling, grammar and punctuation.

Use your best handwriting.

Choose practice flash cards.

First practice addition, subtraction, then multiplication.  Record your scores on your contract sheet.

STUDENTS ARE WORKING IN THE CLASSROOM ON THE CONTRACT ACTIVITIES.  MOST OF THE TRAINING FOR USING THE COMPUTERS HAS BEEN DONE IN THE COMPUTER LAB.  WE HAVE BEEN GOING INTO THE LAB TWICE EACH WEEK SINCE THE SECOND WEEK OF SCHOOL.  THE STUDENTS USUALLY HAVE AT LEAST 2 HOURS OF TIME BETWEEN THE CLASSROOM AND THE LAB.
