This website is a project that I am doing for a Professional Development experience. The website will help me communicate with your child and your family more effectively. This website will help you become better informed about the topics your child is working on at school.

The World of 5th grade
The world of 5th grade will be new and exciting for you and your child. It is full of fun activities and new learning opportunities. In Reading, we will be reading interesting pieces of literature that focus on diverse characters, wonderful cultures, and thought provoking problems. We will also be focusing on informational text so that your students can explore as variety of real world topics. In Math, we will be exploring a new curriculum titled Houghton Mifflin Expressions. The topics and activities are hands-on and challenging for all levels. We will be working in a more traditional methods then in years past.

Throughout the year I will help your child become independent with their school work and develop character that will meet an expectation for success. I fell that we are going to have a great year. I’m so excited for the 08-09 school year.
