Instructional Support Teacher Site
The Instructional Support Teacher is “an on-site professional developer who collaborates with educators to identify and assist with implementation of proven teaching methods” (Knight, 2005).
The IST works closely with, and under the guidance of, the instructional leaders in the building (Principal, Assistant Principal).
The IST works in collaboration with teachers to promote the delivery of high quality instruction The IST incorporates modeling proven (research based) instructional practices, observing teachers and providing feedback, collaboratively exploring data with teachers, supporting team planning, and maintaining an on-going professional relationship with teachers to promote continuous improvement.
